It was inaugurated in 1970 and restored in 1995. The museum has gathered many manuscripts, books, photographs, documents, furniture and personal belongings of the writer born in 1852 in Zabrani (native house at no. 316).

Adam Muller-Guttenbrunn is the most important German Romantic writer from Banat region, author of autobiographical writings ( 'Little Swabian - 1910,' Master Jacob and his children ' "- 1918) and the historical novels such as 'Homeland Bells ' (1910 ), 'The Great Migration of the Swabians' (1913) and 'Joseph the German' (1917).

Between 1919 and 1921 the writer published the trilogy 'Lenau' ( 'Parents House', ' Demonic Years ', 'The Height'), in memory of the great German poet Nikolaus Lenau, also born in Banat.

After 1870, Adam Muller-Guttenbrunn lived and worked in Vienna. He was a theatrical and literary critic, journalist, founded the first popular theater in Vienna (Raimund Theater). He died in 1923.
