Arad Museum was founded in 1893. The building which houses the museum is the Cultural Palace, architectural monument, built in 1913, a work of architect Louis Szantay.

Arad Museum
gathers archeology collections: the Bronze, Dacian Age, Age of migrations and pre-Medieval Age; history: testimonies of the 1848 revolution in Transylvania, the fight for Union (1918), ethnography, natural sciences, exhibits on the area of Arad: mineralogy, flora and fauna; Romanian classical and contemporary art, European paintings from the XVII - XX centuries, decorative art, theater history: programs, posters, photos, scores (Collection Joseph Serbian).

Being a mixed museum, originally it represented a collection of relics of the Revolution in 1848 and a collection of archeology. Since 1913, Arad Museum functions in the actual building. The last reorganization took place in 1979. Starting with 1992, the musem includes a section of natural sciences. Currently, the museum holds over 125,000 pieces and is a very active player on the cultural scene of Arad being a ferment in reforming it.
