Hagienoff Manor

Hagienoff  Manor has the popular name of "castle", being built by John Hagienoff in the years 1899-1900 and was originally the residence of his family. After 1915 the manor passed in the property of Nicholas I. Hagienoff, who ruled until 1948, when it was seized by communist authorities. Located in the historical center of the city, Hagienoff Manor is an unique monument of architecture for the area of Urziceni.

The manor was during several decades in the property of I.A.S Boraneşti and I.A.S. Urziceni, hosting for a period the local kindergarten. The manor reaches in the last 50 years an increased deterioration. This process was halted by repairs that were made in recent years, particularly in the period 2001-2002.

Architecturally speaking, Hagienoff Manor represents a two storey building, made of a main body and a joined one in the style of medieval defensive towers, hence the image of a castle that offers. The building is made of brick with Swiss architectural style, with some parts of marble. The interior is rich with decorative elements such as painted ceilings, stucco and plaster consoles.
