Saints Constantin and Elena Church

Gura Humorului, judetul Suceava

AddressLoc. Gura-Humorului

Located in the town of Gura Humorului, Church of Saints Constantin and Elena represents an orthodox place of worship built in 1862. The church was restored after the destruction of the Second World War, through the contribution of believers during the pastorate of the priests Teodor Bodnar and Aurel Turtureanu. The painting was made by Prof. Nicolae Stoica in Bucharest and sculpture by Mihai Croitoru of Targu Neamt. In a niche located in the right side of the church there is a miracle-working icon of the Virgin.

On July 1, 1973, it was held the consecration service by His Eminence Dr. Iustin Moisescu, Metropolitan of Moldova and Suceava, with a group of priests. The work of restoration was made because of damage of the painting and was made by master painter Nicolae Gavrilean, son of this parish, with the support of believers, under the pastorate of the provost priest Mircea Nutu in 1995-1996.
On May 19, 1996 it was held again the consecration service of the halidom by Archbishop Pimen Zainea, Archbishop of Suceava and Radauti, surrounded by a group of priests. On the walls of the church narthex there were painted the two bishops during whose pastorate was made the restoration of the halidom: Iustin Moisescu and Pimen Zainea.
