Description

The Vivarium - had a modest start: a few aquariums placed near a wall of the basic exhibition of the old museum, Criste Cristoveanu House, composed by all the rules. This was the first exhibition of exotic fish, opened in September 1, 1975.

After this followed an exhibition of species of pigeons organized near the same museum (November 1976) and after just two years was organized an exhibition of exotic birds, making the fundament of the future vivarium, by merging the two small sections. Things have evolved rapidly, though with great effort, was obtained in 1981 a new location (near the current Central Market) whose space had to be arranged.

Since 1992, modernization works began in the new chambers which is now an exhibitional complex: exhibition of singing and ornamental birds, indigenous and exotic fish exhibition, species of pigeon exhibition, exhibition of arboreal animals and the poultry exhibition.

In 1995 an exhibition of exotic birds has been modernized. Starting on January 1, 1981, the Vivarium moved from the headquarters of Marx street no. 2, in the headquarters of the former school no. 2, from Popa Sapca street no. 3. The building of this address is actually an architectural monument.

Currently in the Vivarium function five sections: the exhibition of singing and ornamental exotic birds; indigenous and exotic fish; species of pigeons, poultry, arboreal animals, being the only one of its kind in the country. The Vivarium is distinguished also by arranging the itinerant exhibitions known under the generic "nature and art ", so taking into account the relationship between natural and artistic beauty.

Whether in Botosani, Arad, Adjud, Suceava, Piatra Neamt, either in Bacau, exhibitions such as "Expo-vivarium", "Exotic Animals" and others have enjoyed a real appreciation of the public.
