The Wreck

Costinesti, judetul Constanta

AddressCostinesti

Description

The Gospel (Evanghelia) has failed in the late '60s because of bad atmospheric conditions and reduced visibility. During the storm, at midnight, getting too close to the shore, the captain, being sure got near the port of Constanta, the hull of the vessel remained stuck between two rocks in the shape of V.

The Gospel was a commercial ship belonging to the famous Greek businessman Aristotle Onassis. Because of the monstrous cost for the recovery, the ship was abandoned, later entering the Romanian state heritage and became the symbol of Costinesti.

Tourists who want to test their limits and their courage, try to get to the wreck either by swimming or by light boats. It is useful for those who venture in swimming to take with them a raft, a jacket or a mattress. Beach Slippers should not miss because of the risk of cuts in the foot.
